Anthony Ong was born in the ‘fine’ city of Singapore, where he lived until he was two. After moving to Canada he discovered his interest and talent in drawing. This inevitably caused him to pursue a career in graphic design.
Anthony is highly dedicated and passionate about his work. He is his own toughest critic and is always striving to come up with the best solution to a problem. In secondary school, he graduated with honours, and achieved the highest standing in the art department. He was also awarded the Computer Art Award in his graduating year.
Anthony is currently a fourth year graphic design student at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). Studying at OCAD introduced him to a whole new world of design and new ways of thinking. He developed an eye for typography, a mind for creativity and mastered the ability to work into the wee hours of the night. Anthony then developed an interest in packaging design.
When not designing, he likes to read books, and watch movies. Learning to play the drums is a new endeavour for Anthony and presently he is trying to master how to control each of his limbs independently. As a way to improve the coordination in his left hand, Anthony tries to use it when he gets the chance. Although it causes him much annoyance, it can be quite entertaining to watch.
